Bridgers (4th & 5th grade)
The Bridger ministry of Journey church exists to provide a gateway to spiritual maturity for 4th and 5th grade students. We want bridgers to begin the process of owning their faith and experiencing what it means to worship with the body of Christ. Bridgers will check in through our check-in system, attend worship with their parents and be dismissed to their bible study after communion. Parents will pick up their students after the service they are attending is complete.
There is a different kid’s check-in form for Easter Services. See below.
Where do I go when I get there?
When you first walk in the doors of the Journey, you will be greeted by our Host team. They’re pretty good about spotting new families. They should direct you to Kids Check-in.
There, you will be asked a few questions to help us serve your child better, by allowing us to know of any food allergies, special needs, etc. After that, give them a hug and we’ll do the rest.
What should I expect for my kids when I visit?
The first thing to expect, is for your child to have fun. We have some great teachers in our kids area, and they love to make the time they spend with your child fun and energetic. Another thing to be sure of is that they will learn the gospel.
Who serves in TJC Kids church?
We have a mixture of men and women who have a passion for seeing kids grow in their walk with Christ. All of our teachers are volunteers from our congregation and have gone through a background check. Our leaders work with volunteers from every age group to put together a rotation of volunteer kids workers who all serve on a yearly rotation, with weekly “teachers helpers”, depending on the age group. If you are a parent and are a regular attender at The Journey, we ask that you serve on the rotation. For more information about getting plugged in to TJC Kids contact Kendria Spicer here.
Will my child be safe?
At The Journey, we have a committed group of men who serve on our security team. Several of these men have a law enforcement background. Our security team perform regular check-ins with the classrooms to ensure everything is going great. All of our teachers have gone through a background check.
What about snacks, drinks and bathroom breaks?
We provide snacks and drinks for your child during their time in Kids church. If you are a new guest, at check-in, you will be asked about any food allergies, special needs, etc. We have bathrooms in some of our younger classrooms and a designated bathroom for the older kids.
