In early 2017, The Journey Church was averaging around 750 people. We now see close to 1,500 people in weekend worship. The church is growing like crazy, but we are at crossroads. We are already at 5 services in our existing building. We do not feel the most advantageous thing is to add another service. We also do not desire to build a gargantuan facility that would be required to hold the number of people we feel God has called us and gifted us to reach.

So the elders and staff sought the Lord’s direction for what we could do. Not reaching any more people is not an option for us. As we began to look at what God is doing, we noticed the Lord has been sending people from Mt. Juliet to us. As we looked at that, and as we looked at the growth Mt. Juliet has experienced, we concluded that the best way for us to fulfill the vision God has given us is to launch a campus into Mt. Juliet.

We want to send 300 of our folks, back into Mt. Juliet and ask them to be the church to their city. We can look at our Mt Juliet folks who call TJC home and say, “stay where you are and serve where you live.” It not only makes room at Lebanon, but it makes possible to reach more people with the gospel in the fast-growing city of Mt Juliet. We have said before, our building in Lebanon is not a landing place, but a launching pad. We believe it is time to launch.

God is doing an incredible thing at The Journey Church. We are seeing the pouring out of His Spirit in Lebanon. We yearn to help thousands more see Jesus as incomparably glorious in Mt. Juliet.

What

A multi-site church is one church that meets in multiple locations. The different campuses share vision, values, strategy, resources, budget, teaching, and even, at times, staff. The purpose of becoming a multi-site church is to make more and better disciples by bringing the church closer to where people are.
