TJC Stories: Ginger Reed

Ginger Reed – Bridgers Teacher

I received an invitation from Erik and Clyde Roundtree to attend a meeting where they would cast their vision for a new church plant. I was currently not attending church and had been absent from church for many years. I would attend Easter and Christmas but other than the usual holiday’s I was not going.

As a Mother I felt obligated to support my son by attending the meeting. I went in with the expectations that there was really nothing I had to offer to help this church plant. I asked my daughter if she was going to be a part of the launch and she was like, “Absolutely, I’m excited and pumped.” I started thinking that I should be a part of the launch so I could support my children in this mission.

My motives were not to expand the gospel but to be with my family. But God, He has bigger plans than I can wrap my mind around and this was my path to grow and draw closer to Him. God gave me gifts to be used to serve the Church. I quickly became a part of a team that was on mission for God. I was learning more about God than I ever had before. I was changing, being transformed.

The Journey Church was planted 10 years ago and this was a “game changer” for me.  My first serve opportunity was Kid’s Ministry. Serving in Kids Ministry is one of the best things I have ever done. I was blessed to be a part of the Rutland and Hartsville Church plants serving a year in Kid’s ministry for each church.  When I came back to our Lebanon campus, I was the lead over the Host Team and served in the Nursery.  I switched back to Kid’s ministry when we started the Gospel Project.

Seeing a student come to Jesus and being baptized brings me unspeakable Joy. Each child is unique and special and being a small part of their lives every week is why I do it. My goal in kid’s ministry is to create an environment where children can be themselves and encounter Jesus every week.
If you are interested in taking the next step or connecting to the TJC family, we would love to invite you to attend Growth Track. It’s 4 weeks of classes offered during the first services that will equip you to grow in your faith.

You will have the opportunity to become a member, join a serve team, join a Gospel Community Group and more!

All you have to do is RSVP by texting, ‘Saturday GT’ to attend on Saturday or ‘Sunday GT’ to attend on Sunday, to 31996.
