Join us for The Ezer Conference on Saturday, April 5th from 9-1pm at TJC!

What does it mean to be created female? Our world provides all types of answers that leave us unsatisfied— yet the first pages of Scripture articulate a beautiful description of our identity, design, and purpose.

When God created Eve in Genesis 2:18 he called her an “ezer kenegdo” or helper fit for Adam. Did you know that the Hebrew word ezer is the same word used to describe God helping and rescuing his people throughout the Old Testament?

Join us as we unpack the scriptures to discover how God's Ezer design for us impacts every sphere of our lives. We’ll answer exactly what women are made for and how to help female disciples apply that to their lives by looking at women of the New Testament who lived out the reality of what Gen. 1-3 teaches about women.

Our speaker, Julie Higgins has a passion for equipping women to teach the Bible, make disciples, serve their church, and live on mission. Julia has an MDiv in Christian Education from Mid-America Baptist Seminary and a PhD in Leadership from Southern Seminary. Currently, she serves as Assistant Professor of Christian Ministry at Samford. She co-edited and contributed to The Whole Woman: Ministering to Her Heart, Soul, Mind and Strength (B&H 2021), she authored Empowered and Equipped: Bible Exposition for Women Who Teach the Scriptures (B&H Academic 2022), and is currently writing, Christ and His Bride: How Jesus Calls Men and Women to Reign with Him (forthcoming, B&H 2026). She has spoken at various events for Lifeway Women and serves as a doctrinal reader for ‘Missions Mosaic,’ a publication of the WMU. She and her husband, Tony, reside in the Birmingham area with their loveable Shih-tzu, Charlie.

Don’t miss this time of gospel rich teaching, worship, break outs, and the opportunity to get to know other women at TJC. We’ve got new shirts to reveal, lunch and childcare covered!
